The Avant-Garde Cosmetology Programs Ned Halimi, a former professional hairstylist, salon owner and cosmetology school manager, founded the Cosmetology and Spa Institute in Crystal Lake, Illinois. Ned's extensive background in cosmetology includes many advanced training classes taken at prestigious academies around the world, including the Vidal Sassoon Academy. His dynamic international experience is the foundation for the avant-garde cosmetology programs offered at our school. Sassoon Academy School Connection At The Cosmetology and Spa Institute, our management team has been trained by the internationally renowned Sassoon Academy and we are proud to be a member of the Sassoon Academy School Connection Program. Unlike other spa schools in Illinois, we are the only Sassoon Connection School in the entire state of Illinois.
